ORDINANCE N0. ~` ~'
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT THE CANDIDATES WHO RECEIVED THE THIRD AND FOURTH
HIGHEST NUMBER OF QUALIFIED VOTES AT THE CITY CHARTER ELECTION HELD ON THE
FOURTH TUESDAY IN APRIL, A, D. 1958, ARE ELECTED AND SHALL SERVE AS COMMISSION-
ERS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS.
WHEREAS, at a Special Meeting, held on the 25th day of April, A. D.
1958, the City Commission of the City of La Porte canvassed the votes and re-
turns of the regular City Election, held on the fourth Tuesday in April, A. D.
1958, and declared the results of such election as follows, to-wit:
For the office of Mayor - H. P. Pfeiffer, 648 votes;
For the office of Commissioner - John D. (Jack) Lawler, 451 votes;

- Odell L. Brown, 275 votes;
- Tom ~. Osburn, 264 votes;
- Frank R. Boyle, 208 votes;
- C. D. Deeter, 166 votes;

- Charlie Martin, lb6 votes; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission declared H. P. Pfeiffer elected to the
office of Mayor of the City of La Porte, the City Commission declared John D.
(Jack) Lawler elected to the office of Commissioner of the City of La Porte,
and the City Commission declared Odell L. Brown elected to the office of Com-
missioner of the City of La Porte; and
WHEREAS, at the Special Meeting held on the 25th day of April, A. D.

1958, the City Commission of the City of La Porte canvassed the votes and re-
turns of the City Election, held on the fourth Tuesday in April, A, D. 1958, on,
the three (3) proposed Amendments to the Home Rule Charter of the City of La
Porte, and declared the results of such election as follows, to-wit:

WHEREAS, the City Commission declared that the said Amendment No. 1,

ments have become a part of the Home Rule Charter of the City of La Porte; now

(third and fourth highest number of qualified votes at the Charter Election held

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval, and it is so ordered.
