AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA :PORTE, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE

BOUNDARY IJIMI'TS OF SAID CrTY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREIN-
AFTE:R DESCRIBED rrEHRITORY 'l-JITHIN SAID CITY LIMITS, AND
GRANTING TO ALJ-! THE n"THABITANTS .AND O\-n~ERS OF SAID PROPERTY
AIJL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BIND-
ING SAID TNHABIT.ANTS BY AI-!I-! THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS
AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has heretofore adopted
a Home Rule Charter authorizing it to annex territory and ex-
tend the corporate limits of said city by action of the City
Commission; and,

WHEREAS, the hereinafter described land is adjacent
to the present city limits of the City of La Porte and members
of the City Commission of the City of La Porte have concluded
that said area should be annexed and made a part of the City
of La Porte, Texas;
NOW', THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LA PORTE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be
and the same is hereby annexed to the City of La Porte, Texas,
and the boundary limits of the City of La Porte be, and the same

are hereby extended to include the following described territory
within the city limits of the City of La Porte, and the same shall
hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city,
and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to al1
rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of La Porte,
and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinC'illces, resoluti.ons and
regulati.ons of said city. That the territory to be so annexed is
more particularly described, as follows, to-wit:

THENCE in 8 wes~erly direction along the South right-of-way

A-h82 to a point in the East right-of-way line of Ped Bluff
Road for a corner;

THENCE Southeasterly and Easterly along the East right-of-way
line of Red Bluff Road to the point of intersection with the
center line of Taylor Lake for a corner;
THENCE Southwesterly along the center line and following the
meanders of Taylor Lake to its intersection with the center
line of Clear Lake, said point also being in the Harris-
Galveston County line, for a corner;
THENCE Easterly following the meanders of Clear Lake along
its center line and the Harris-Galveston County line to its
intersection with Galveston Bay, for a corner;
THENCE Northerly following the Galveston Bay shore line to
its intersection with the South line of Shore Acres in the
W. P. Harris Survey - A-30, for a corner;
THENCE Westerly alont the South line of Sho~e Acres Townsite
in the W. P. Harris Survey A-30 to its intersection with the
East right-of-way line of the T & NOR. R. for a corner;

THENCE Northerly along the East right-of way line of the
T & NOR. R. to a point of intersection with the South line
of Johnson Hunter Survey A-35 extended westerly, for a corner;
THENCE vJesterly to the center line of the T & NOR. R. rircht-
of-way for a corner;
THENCE Northerly along the center line of the T & NOR. R.
right-of-way to the Place of Beginning.
Section 2. That should any portion of the territory
sought to be annexed herein not be subject to annexr,tion by the
Ci ty of La Porte, then it is the intention of the City COffii'nission
of the City of La Porte to annex only such portion of said area
as may be legally subject to annexation by the City of IJa Porte,
and the fact that a portion of said area may not legally be sub-

ject to annexation by said city shall not affect the validity of
the annexation of the remaining portions of said territory, it
being the intention of the City Commission to annex all or such
portions of the above described area as it may legally annex.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from
and after its passage as the Charter in such cases provides.
