BE I'r ORDAINED BY THE CIry C01';;?~ISSIOl\J OF' THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: Section 1. Any vehicle approaching South Broadway Street traveling West on Garfield Street shall come to a co~plete stop before entering the intersection of South Broadway Street and Garfield Street and shall not proceed onto or across Soutb Broadway Street unless and until it is clear to the operator of the vehicle so stopoed that there is no other vehicle approaching the intersection of South Broadway Street at Garfield Street within a distance of 900 feet. Section 2. Any person operating a vehicle who fails to bring said vehicle to a complete stop at a point heretofore designated as a stop before entering an intersection shall be guilty of failing to stop and shall be fined not less than $10.00 nor more than $200.00. Section 3. Any person operating a vehicle from a point heretofore designated as a stop, who proceeds into the intersection and at the time of entry onto the intersecting street, there is in fact another vehicle approaching said intersection within a distance of less than 900 feet shall be guilty of negligently ooerating said vehicle and shall be fined not less thaD $10.00 nor more than $200.00. Section 4. Any person ooerating a vehble from a ooint heretofore designated as a stop, who Droceeds into the intersection 9nd his vehicle is involved in a collision, whether his vehicle is strucK or is the stricing vehicle, within the intersection or within 50 feet thereof shall be guilty of negligent collision and shall be fined not less than $10.00 nor more than $200.00. Section 5. Should any section of this ordinance conflict with any ordinance heretofore adopted by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall prevail and such conflicting portions of the prior ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication, as required by law. e .
