AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE MAYOR PRO-TEM, THE CITY CLERK,
ASSISTANT CITY CLERKS, CLERK OF THE CORPORATION COURT, CHIEF
OF POLICE, MANAGER OF MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER,
JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT, DEPOSITORY FOR THE CITY OF
LA PORTE, FIRE MARSHALL, FIRE CHIEF AND LEGAL COUNSEL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. ODELL L. BROWN is hereby appointed Mayor
Pro-Tern for the term beginning on the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962, and
ending at midnight the 31st day of October, A. D., 1962; DENNIS DUNHAM
is hereby appointed Mayor Pro-Tern for the term beginning the 1st day of

November, A. D., 1962, and ending at midnight the 30th day of April, A. D. ,
1963; TOM W. OSBURN is hereby appointed Mayor Pro-Tern for the term
beginning on the 1st day of May, A. D., 1963, and ending at midnight on the
31st day of October, A. D., 1963; W. A. STABS is hereby appointed Mayor
Pro-Tern for the term beginning the 1st day of November, A. D., 1963, and
ending at midnight the 30th day of April, A. D., 1964, and ODELL L. BROWN,
DENNIS DUNHAM, TOM W. OSBURN and W. A. STABS shall serve in such
offices and in the absence or incapacity of the Mayor shall do all things, per-
form all duties and in fact have all the powers and duties of the Mayor of the
City of La Porte for their respective terms.
Section 2. CLOVIS D. MANN is hereby appointed City Clerk,
Director of Finance and Tax Assessor and Collector, and shall serve in such
office for the term beginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 3. RUTH HUDDLESTON is hereby appointed Assis-
tant City Clerk, and shall serve in such office for the term beginning the 4th
day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 4. RUTH HUDDLESTON is hereby appointed Clerk of
the Corporation Court, and shall serve in such office for the term beginning
the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.

Section 6. HERBERT FREEMAN is hereby appointed Chief
of Police of the City of La Porte, and shall serve in such office for the term
beginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 7. RUSSELL SHEPHERD is hereby appointed Manager
of the La Porte Municipal Airport, and shall serve in such office for the term
beginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 8. THE LA PORTE-BAYSHORE SUN is hereby made
and appointed the official newspaper of the City of La Porte for the term be-
ginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 9. GEORGE H. COUNTS, SR., is hereby appointed
Judge of the Corporation Court, and shall serve in such office for the term
beginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 10. THE LA PORTE STATE BANK, La Porte, Texas,
is hereby appointed the depository fu r the City of La Porte for the term be-
ginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 11. C. L. PITMAN is hereby appointed Legal Counsel
for the City of La Porte, and shall serve for the term beginning the 4th day
of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 12. GOULD CROFOOT is hereby appointed Fire Mar-
shall for the City of La Porte, and shall serve in such office for the term
beginning the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.
Section 13. J. O. ROLLINS is hereby appointed Fire Chief
for the City of La Porte, and shall serve in such office for the term beginning
the 4th day of May, A. D., 1962.

Section 14. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval, and it is so o~ned.
