TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AND EXTENDI~G THE BOUNnARY LI~IT3

WHEREAS, The City of La Porte haa heretofore adopted a
Home Rule Charter authorizing it to annex territory en~ to
extend the corporate limits of said city by action of the
City Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the herei~after described land is adjacent to the
present city limits of the City of La Porte and the members
of the City Commiasion of the City of La Porte have concluded that
said area should be annexed and made a part of the City of La Porte,

3E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TE~S:
SECTIOi~ 1. That the following described territory be and the same is
hereby annexed to the City of La Porte, Texas, and the boundary limits
of the City of La Porte be, and the Bame are hereby extp.nded to

include the following described territory within the city limits of
the City of La Porte, and the same shall hereafter be included
within the territorial limits of said city, and the inhabitants
thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of
other citizens of the :Clty of La Porte, and they shall be bound by
the acts, o~dinances, resolutions and regulatiQns of s8id city.
fhat the territory to be so annexed Is more particularly described
as follows, to-wit:

Beelnning at the interseotion ot the South Right-ot-way line of
F'E! irmont Park.way, ba sed on a wiGth of 200 feet, the said Fairmont
Parkway being e oontinuation to the west of West "J" Street, with
the West Boundary Line of the City Limits of The City of La Porte,
said Place ot BeginnB!' being in the oenter of the Southern Paoifio
Railroad Right-ot-way and 4900 feet more or less South of the
intersection of the South Right-of-way line of Spencer Highway
(West Main Street) with the Southern Pacific Railroad Right-of-way;
THENCE, West along the South Right-of-way line of Fairmont
Parkway (previously k.nown as Cardiff Road) based on a width of
200 teet, a distance ot 24,676 feet more or less to the point of
intersection of the South Right-ot-way line of Fairmont Park.way
with the West Survey line of the W. M. Jones survey, abstract no. 482,
said point also being in the west boundary line of La Porte
Independent School District;
THEHCE, South along the West Survey line ot the W. l4. Jones
3urvey, abstract no. 482, a distance of 1910 feet more or less to
a point in the Northeast Right-ot-way line ot Red Bluff Road, said
point being 205 feet more or less North at the Southwest Corner
of the W. M. Jones Survey, Abstract No. 482;
THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction along Northeast Right-
of-way line of the said Red Blutt Road and following its various
curvea and meanderings for a total distanoe of 37,840 teet more
or less to its intersection with State Highway No. 146;
THENCE, crossing said State Highway No. 146 by a line
perpendicular to its centerline to the East Right-ot-way line of
the said Jiate Highwr No. 146;
THE~CE, in a southerly direction along the East Right-of-way
line of State Highway No. 146 to its intersection with the North
atg"Qef-way line of Red Blutf Road, a distance of 720 teet more
or less;
THENCE, iN an easterly direction along the North Right-of-way
line of Red Bluff Road and following its curves and meanderings to
its intersection with the West Right-ot-way line of Todville Road;
THENCE, in a northerly direction along the West Right-ot-way,
line of Todville Road to its intersection with the North Survey
line ot the Ritson ~orris Survey, abstract no. 52, the same being
the Jouth 3urvey Line of the Wm. P. Harris Survey, abstract no. 30; !

to the waters of Galveston Bay;
THELCE, in 0 northerly direction, following th8 meanderinEs
of the shore of Galveston Bay to the South Boundary line of
3boreacres Subdivision, according to the map thereof recorded in
Volume 7, Pages 10 and 11 01 the Map Records of Harris County, Texas;
TilEJ.I;CE, in a westerly direction, alons the south boundary line
of the said 3horeecres 3ubdivision to the centerline ot the Southern
Pacific Railroad Right-ot-way;
THENCE, 1n a northerly direction, along the centerline of
the Southern Facific Railroad Right-ot-way to tt~ rlRee of

SA V E AND EXCEPT two tecorded subdivisions which are specifically
excepted from the operation of this ordinance, said subdivisions being
Bay Colony and Shady Oaks both having been included in the original
Ordinance Number 624 of The City of La Porte made and provided. Bay
Colony being a subdivision out of the Wm. P. Harris Survey in Harris
County, Texas, according to the Map thereof recorded in Volume 81, Page
62 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas, and Shady Oaks being a
subdivision out of the Wm. P. Harris Survey in Harris County, Texas,
according to the map thereof recorded in Volume 3.'5, Page 31 of the Map
Records of Harris County, Texas.
SECTION 2. The City Commission of the City of La Porte reserves and
preserves the rights, powers, duties and effect of any and all prior
annexation ordinances heretofore passed, and in no way relinquishes nor
releases any part or portion of the territory annexed in Ordinances
Numbered 493,494, 497, 587, 621, 623,624, 625, 628, 634, 635, 637 and.
647.
SECTION 3. Should any portion of the territory sought to be annexed
herein not be subject to annexation by the f:ity of La Porte, then it is the
intention of the City Commission of the City of La Porte to annex only such
portion of said areas as may be legally subject to annexation by the City of
La Porte, and the fact that a portion of said area may not be legally
annexed by said City shall not affect the validity of the annexation of the

remaining portions of said territory, it being the intention of the City
Commission to annex all or such portions of the above described area as it
ma y legally annex.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance having previously passed and published as
required by The City Charter as Ordinance Number 624, this,is a final and
last passage ;and the territory hereinabove described ~hall henceforth be
a part of the City of La Porte.

WHEREAS, The City of La Porte has heretofore adopted a

of the City of La Porte be, anr. the same are hereby extpnded to
