BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: Section 1. EARL D. GRAVES, an electrical e~gineer in the employ of Houston L~ghti~g & Power Company, is hereby appointed to Position No. 1 on the Electrical Board of the City of La Porte. H. P. PFEIFFER, a member of the Board of .' Commissioners of the City of La Porte, Texas, is hereby appointed to Position No. 2 on the Electrical Board of the City of La Porte. H. CARLOS SMITH, the City Superintendent of Public Works of the City.',Q,f. La Porte, is hereby appointed to Position No. 3 on the Electrical Board of the City of ,La Porte. Section 2. Each of said members'of the Electrical Board of the City of La Porte shall serve until May 1, ,1967~ or until their successors ,have been appointed and qualified. Any member of the Board shall be subject to removal at the will and pleasure of the City Commission of the City of La Porte. The mem- bers of the Board shall not receive compensation for their services. . Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its pass~ge and approval. AP~;JJ ~ City Attor ey of the C~ y of La Porte -~: ,. -...y .~- I........ a.," .. . . e ORDINANCE NO. 664-D AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO. 664, "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING REGULATORY MEASURES PERTAINING TO ELECTRICAL WORK IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, 'CREATING AN ELECTRICAL BOARD;... II BY INCREASING THE ELECTRICAL BOARD FROM THREE MEMBERS TO FIVE MEMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY "THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. Ordinance No. 664 of the City of La Porte, passed and approved on 'January 18, 1963, popularly known as "City of La Porte Electrical Code", is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: "Section 1. . :Electrical Board. There is hereby created an Electrical Board, which shall consist of five members. The five members of the Board shall be'appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Commission. Each of said five positions shall be numbered. "Position No. 1 shall be filled by an electrical engineer in the employ of a Public Utility Company. "Position No. 2 shall be filled by a member of the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas. "Positions No. 3 arid 4 shall each be filled by a Master Electrician, .licensed in the City of La Porte. "Position No.5 shall'be filled by the City Attorney of the City of La Porte. liThe first appointment to the Electrical Board created hereby shall be made immediately after the final passage hereof, and each appointee shall serve until April 30 of the next even-numbered year, or until his successor has been appointed and qualified. Appointments thereafter shall be made on or after May l' of each even-numbered year, and shal~ take effect from the date of appointment. All appointments except the first shall be for a two-year period until April 30 of the next even- numbered year, provided, however, each member of the Board shall serve until his successor has been appointed and qualified. The members of the Board shall not receive compensation for their services." This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage and approval by the City Commission of the City of La Porte.
