AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS
ON 6th STREET IN THE CITY LIMITS OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; FIXING
A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF $200. 00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CD:MMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LA PORTE, THAT:
Section 1. Any vehicle approaching West Tyler Street traveling
North on North 6th Street shall come to a complete stop before entering
the intersection of West Tyler Street and North 6th Street and shall not
proceed onto or across West Tyler Street unless and until it is clear to
the operator of the vehicle so stopped that there is no other vehicle ap-
proaching the intersection of West Tyler Street at North 6th Street,
within a distance of 200 feet.
Section 2. Any vehicle approaching West Tyler Street traveling
South on North 6th Street shall come to a complete stop before entering
the intersection of West Tyler Street and North 6th Street and shall not
proceed onto or across West Tyler Street unless and until it is clear to
the operator of the vehicle so stopped that there is no other vehicle ap-
proaching the intersection of West Tyler Street at North 6th Street,

within a distance of 200 feet.
Section 3. Any person operating a vehicle who fails to bring
said vehicle to a complete stop before entering an intersection shall be
guilty of failing to stop and shall be fined not less than $10.00 nor more
than, $200.00.
Section 4. Any person operating a vehicle from point hereto-
fore designated as a stop, who proceeds into the intersection and at the
time of entry onto the intersecting street, there is in fact another
vehicle approaching said intersection within a distance of less than
200 feet shall be guiiQ~Y of negligently operating said vehicle and shall be
fined not less than $10.00 nor more than $200.00.

Section 5. Any person operating a vehicle from a point hereto-
fore designated as a stop, who proceeds into the intersection and his
vehicle is involved in a collision, whether his vehicle is struck or is
the striking vehicle, Within the intersection or within 50 feet thereof
shall be guilty of negligent collision and shall be fined not less than
$10. 00 nor more than $200. 00.
Section 6. Should any section of this ordinance conflict with
any ordiriance heretofore adopted by the City Commission of the City
of La Porte, the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall prevail
....
and such conflicting portions of the prior ordinance is hereby repealed.
Section 7. This ordinance shall become effective and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication, as re-
quired by law.
