CALLING AN ELECTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF HARRIS
CITY OF LA PORTE
We, the undersigned officers of said City, hereby
certify as follows:
1. The City Commission of said City con~ened in
REGULAR MEETING ON THE S'TH DAY OF APRIL, 1965, at the City
Hall, and the roll was called of the duly constituted officers
and members of said City Commission~ to-wit:
Mrs. Marilyn Kelley, City
Frank G. Baker Clerk
Tom W. Osburn
Harold P. Pfeiffer, Mayor
Russell Shepherd
W. A. Stabs, Jr.
and all of said persons were present, except ~he following

thus constituting a quorum. Whereupon, among other business,
the following was transacted at said Meeting: a written
ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION ON THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS
was duly introduced for the consideration of said City Commission
and read in full. It was then duly moved and seconded that said
Ordinance be passed; and, after due discussion, said motion,
carrying with it the passage of said Ordinance, prevailed and
carried by the following vote:
AYES: All members of said City Commission shown
present above voted "Aye."

2. That a true, full, and correct copy of the aforesai
Ordinance passed at the Meeting described in the above ~nd fore-
going paragraph is attached to and follows this Certificate; that
said Ordinance has been duly recorded in said City Commission's
minutes of said Meeting; that the above and foregoing paragraph
is a true, full, and correct excerpt from said City Commission's
minutes of said Meeting pertaining to the passage of said Or-
dinance; that the persons named in the above and foregoing para-
graph are the duly chosen, qualified, and acting officers and
members of said City Commission as indicated therein; and that
each of the officers and members of said City Commission was duly
and sufficiently notified officially and personally, in advance,.'
of the time, place, and purpose of the aforesaid Meeting, and
that said Ordinance would be introduced and considered for pas sag
at said Meeting, and each of said officers and members consented,
in advance, to the holding of said Meeting for such purpose.
3. That the Mayor of said City has approved,_~nd here-
by approves, the aforesaid Ordinance; that the Mayor and the Cify
Clerk of said City have duly signed said Ordinance; and that the
Mayor and the City Clerk of said City hereby declare tha~ their
signing of this Certificate shall constitute the signing of the
attached and following copy of said Ordinance for all purposes.

ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION ON
THE ISSUANCE OF TAX AND REVENUE BONDS
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF HARRIS
CITY, OF LA PORTE
WHEREAS~ the City Commission of said City deems it
advisable to issue the bonds of said City for the purposes
hereinafter stated; and
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
1. That an election shall be held in said City on

the ~day of April, 1965, at the City Hall, La Porte, Texas.
2. That a Presiding Judge and an Alternate Presiding
Judge shall be appointed, and' the maximum number of Clerks which
may be selected to serve at said election shall be fixed by the
Mayor as provided by law.
3. That at said election the following Propositions
shall be submitted in accordance with law:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the City Commission of said City be
authorized to issue the bonds of said City in.
one or more series or issues, in the aggregate
principal amount of $400,000, with the bonds of
each such series or issue, respectively, to mature
serially in not to exceed 30 years ~rom their date,
and to bear interest at rates not to exceed 5% per
annum, for the purpose of improving the streets of
said City; and shall said City Commission be
authorized to levy and cause to be assessed and
collected annual ad valorem taxes in an amount
sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and
provide a sinking ~und to pay said bonds at maturity?

Shall the City Commission of said City be
authorized to issue the bonds of said City in
one or more series or issues, in the aggregate

one or more series or issues, in the aggregate
princlpal amount of $ 75,000, with the bonds of
each such series or issue, respectively, to mature

5% per annum, for the purpose of constructing a public
building to be used as a, community building; and
shall said City Commission be authorized to levy

to pay said bonds at maturity?
PROPOSITION NOo 4

public library of said City; and shall said City
Commission be authorized to levy and cause to be
assessed and collected annual ad valorem taxes in
an amount sufficient to pay the interest on said
bonds and provide a sinking fund to pay said bonds
at maturity?
PROPOSITION NO. 5
Shall the City Commission of said City be
authorized to issue the bonds of said City, in
one or more series or ~ssues, in the aggregate
principal amount of $ 60,000, with the bonds of
each such series or issue, respectively, to mature
serially within not to exceed 30 years from their
date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of enlarging, improv-
ing and equipping the City's airport; with said
bonds to be secured by and payable from a first
lien on and pledge of the Net Revenues of'said
City's airport?

PROPOSITION NO. 6

one or more series or issues, in the aggregate
principal amount of $125,000, with the bonds of
each such series or issue, respectively, to
mature serially within not to exceed 30 years
from their date, and to bear interest at rates
not to e~ceed S% per annum, for the purpose of
improving and extending said City's Sewer System,
with said bonds to be secured by and payable from
a first lien on and pledge of the Net Revenues of
said City's Waterworks and Sewer System?
PROPOSITION NO. 7
Shall the City Commission of sa~d City be
authorized to issue the bonds of said City, in
one or more series or issues, in the aggregate
principal amount of $175,000, with the bonds of
each such series or issue, respectively, to mature
'serially within not to exceed 30 years from their
date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed
5% per annum, for the purpose of improving and
extending said City's Waterworks System, with said
bonds to be secured by and payable from a first
lien on and pledge of the Net Revenues of said
City's Waterworks and Sewer System?
4. That the official ballots for said election shall
have wfitten or printed thereon the following:
