'. , oJ ,,' " ORDINANCE NO. 7 ;}~ AN ORDINANCE VACATING" 'ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEYS LYING WITHIN BLOCK TWO (2),BAY~FRONT ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AS SHOWN BY THE MAP OR PLAT OF SAID BLOCK RECORDED IN VOLUME 85, PAGES 440 AND 441, HARRIS COUNTY DEED RECORDS; AND ADOPTING, RECOGNIZING, AND RATIFYING THE LOCATION OF THE ALLEYS IN SAID BLOCK TWO (2), BAY FRONT ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTYj TEXAS, AS. SHOWN BY THE RE-PLAT OF SAID BLOCK, RECORDED IN VOLUME 1, PAGE 27, MAP RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. WHEREAS, by a map recorded in Volume 85, Pages 440 and 441, of the Harris County, Texas', Deed Records, under date of July 9, 1895, Block Two (2), Bay Front Addition to the Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, was mapped and platted, and the alleys in said block were located as shown in said plat; and WHEREAS, thereafter, 'a re-plat of said Block Two (2), Bay Front Addition to the Town bf La Porte, Harris County, Texas, was adopted and recorded in VolUme 1, Page 27, of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas, reference to which is here made for all pur- poses, in which re-plat the public alleys in said block were partially relocated; and \iHEREAS, from and after the filing of said re-plat of said block, in the Map Records of Harris County, Texas, ~n Volume I, at Page 27, the City of La Porte, and the various public utilities fran- chised by the City of La Porte, have adopted, recognized, and used as public alleys, the alleys as shown in said re-plat, and have, since the date of said re-plat, vacated, abandoned, and closed the alleys in said block,' as shown by said original plat; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte, in order to correct any confusion which may exist as to the present location of the alleys whicn said City of La Porte, and the public utilities operating under franchises from it, are presently using and recognizing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The City of La por.te hereby recognizes, con- firms, and validates, the location of the public alleys in Block Two (2), Bay Front Addition to the Town of La Porte, Harris County, .JII,' Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof recorded on May 8, 1900, , " -2- .. in Volume 1, Page 27, of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas, reference to which records is here made for all purposes. Section 2. 'The City of La Porte hereby rat ifies and con- firms the permanent vacating, abandoning, and closing of the alleys in said Block Two (2), Bay Front Addition to the Town of La Porte, Harris County~ Texas, as said alleys are shown in the map recorded in Volume 85, Pages 440 and 441, of the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas, reference to which is here made for all purposes, except to the extent which the location of the alleys in the two above-mentioned maps and plats are common. . Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. PASSED AND APPROVED, this the ~~ day of November, 1965.
