RESOLUTION NO. 86-32
WHEREAS, Harris County is contemplating a capital
improvements program and bond issue; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Porte ha s several vital need s in
street, highway, and drainage projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Porte wishes Harris County to include
the needs of the City of La Porte in the County Bond Issue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS
THAT the following projects be included in such Harris County
Bond Issue:
1. Extension of Bay Area Boulevard from Fairmont Parkway to
Spencer Highway and upgrading Bay Area Boulevard (Sens
Road) between Spencer Highway and State Highway 225, and
supporting drainage improvements
2. Upgrading Underwood Road between Fairmont Parkway and
State Highway 225 to four-lane curb and gutter, and
supporting drainage improvements
3. Upgrading North "L" Street (extension of Pasadena
Boulevard) between Underwood Road and State Highway 146
to four-lane curb and gutter, and supporting dra inage
improvements
4. Extension of 16th Street from Fairmo~t Parkway south to
McCabe Road and construction of concrete four-lane curb
and gutter, and supporting drainage improvements with
lateral connecting street to State Highway 146 at
Wharton Weems Boulevard.
5. Improve ex isting north-south tributary to "Willow
Springs Bayou" (112) channel (located just east of
Canada Street) between Spencer Highway and Carlow Lane,
and construction of new diversion channel (B109) from a
point near intersection of Carlow Lane and Canada Street
south to an existing channel at Red Bluff Road south of
City.
6. Improve Harris Cou'nty Flood Control' District (HCFCD)
watershed F101 by constructing two open channels in
Lomax to divert the western half of the watershed into
Big Island Slough (B1-6) and by making downstream
improvements to B106.
7. Improve HCFCD watershed F216 by extending the headwater
of Little Cedar Bayou westward and northward about 1.5
miles and by constructing midstream improvements west of
State Highway 146
PASSED A.ND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of La
Porte, Texas, this the 17th day of November, 1986.
