AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE PUBLIC WELFARE
OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, BY PROHIBITING ANY PERSON WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY FROM BEING IN THE 'NIGHTTIME IN
OR ABOUT PUBLIC OR PRIVATE BUILDINGS OR PREMISES WHERE HE HAS NO
RIGHT OR PERMISSION TO BE, UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, WITHOUT
BEING ABLE TO GIVE A SATISFACTORY ACCOUNT OF THE SAME; PROVIDING
THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE
DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR, AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED
IN ANY SUM NOT LESS THAN TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00) NOR MORE
THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
TEXAS, THAT:

Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person within
the corporate limits of the City of La Porte to be in the night-
time in or about public or private buildings or premises, where
ne has no right or permission to be, under suspicious circumstances,
and without being able to, give a satisfactory account of the same.
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than Twenty-five
Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval and publication as
