RESOLUTION NO. 86-33 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, APPROVING THE ENTRY INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY FOR THE PROVISION OF AMBULANCE SERVICE BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO THE PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY, UPON TERMS AND CONDITIONS SPECIFIED IN THAT CERTAIN CONTRACT: APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF SAID CONTRACT BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE: FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the CITY OF LA PORTE is desirous of providing ambulance service to the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY: and WHEREAS, the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY is desirous of having the CITY OF LA PORTE provide said ambulance service, and is willing to pay the CITY OF LA PORTE for provision of same: and WHEREAS, the CITY OF LA PORTE submitted a proposed contract to the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY, and said contract having been previously ratified by the City Council on June 9, 1986: and WHEREAS, the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY has included certain amendments to said contract as submitted, all of which are deemed acceptable by the CITY OF LA PORTE: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. That the amended contract for the provision of ambulance service by the CITY OF LA PORTE to the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit nAn and is fully incorporated by reference herein, shall be and the same is hereby approved as a~ended. Section 2. That the mayor of the CITY OF LA PORTE, the city Secretary of the CITY OF LA PORTE and the City Attorney of the CITY OF LA PORTE be and are hereby directed to sign said contract in duplicate originals in their respective capacities, with the City Secretary of the CITY OF LA PORTE being directed to foreward said signed copies to the PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY for approval and return to the CITY OF LA PORTE. . . Resolution No. 86-33, Page 2. Section 3. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated: and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this resolution and the sub- ject matter thereof has been discussed, considered, and for- mally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect and be enforced from and after its passage and approval. Passed and approved this the 8th day of December, 1986.
