ORDINANCE NO. 780-J
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE
ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT
CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED~ AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of La Porte
hereby finds, determines and declares that heretofore, to-wit,
on the 7th day of December, 1970, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., a joint
public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commis-
sion, and the City Commission, of the City of La Porte, Texas,
pursuant to due notice, to consider the question of the possible
re-classification of the zoning classification of the herein-
after described parcel of land. There is attached to this
Ordinance as "Exhibit A", and incorporated by reference herein
and made a part hereof for all purposes, a copy of "Notice of
Public Hearing" which the City Commission of the City of
La Porte hereby finds was properly mailed to the owners of
all properties located within two hundred (200) feet of the
properties under consideration.
Section 2. The Publisher's Affidavit of publication of
notice of sa~d hearing is attached hereto as "Exhibit B,"
incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for
all purposes.
Section 3. Subsequent to such public hearing, the City
of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission met in special
session on December 7, 1970, to consider the changes in classi-
fication which were the subject of such joint public hearing.
The City Commission of the City of La Porte is in receipt of
the written recommendations of the City of La Porte Planning
and Zoning Commission, by letter dated December 7, 1970, the
original of which letter is attached hereto as "Exhibit C,"
incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for
all purposes.

Section 4. The City Commission of the City of La Porte
hereby accepts the recommendation of the City of La Porte
Planning and Zoning Commission, and the zoning classification
of the hereinafter described parcel of land, situated within
the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, is hereby
changed in accordance therewith, and the zoning classification
of said parcel of land shall hereafter be "District C--
Apartment and Commercial District." The description of said
parcel of land is as follows, to-wit:
That certain tract or parcel of land, containing
34.74 acres of land, more or less, being bounded
on the North by the South right-of-way line of
West "M" Street~ being bounded on the East by
Little Cedar Bayou; being bounded on the South by
the South city limit line of the City of La Porte,
being the North right-of-way line of West "0"
Street; and being bounded on the West by a
southerly extension of the center, line of the
alley in Block 1150, TOWN OF LA PORTE, Harris
County, Texas.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and
after its passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 21st day of December, 1970.

use classification.
We recommend this rezoning.

Gentlemen:
In a meeting at approximately 8:00P.M., Monday,
Febrmary 16, 1970, following a public hearing
on a request by Gulf Coast Mobile Homes Inc.,
to consider ~ezoning of Blocks 1,2,14,15,and
16, Nebraska Syndicate (Bay Meadows Subdivision)
from R-l Residential to Mobile Home Park,
members of the Planning and Zoning Commission
voted unanimously on the following motion:
That the Bay Meadows Subdivision be rezoned
as a Mobile nome Park to be developed in
accordance with the City Ordinance controlling
Mobile Home Parks, also that portions of 16th
Street, Fairlane, and 14th Street be dedicated
streets.
