AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE
ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE-CLASSIFICATION OF THAT
CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. The City Commission dEthe City of La Porte
hereby finds, determines and declares that heretofore, to~wit,
on the 1st day of March, 1971, at 7:00 o'clock ~.M., a joint
public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commis-
sion, and the City Commission, of the City of La Porte, Texas,
pursuant to due notice, to consider the question of the possible
re-classification of the zoning classification of the herein-

after described parcel of land. There is attached to this
Ordinance as "Exhibit A," and incorporated by reference herein
and made a part hereof for all purposes, a copy of "Notice of
Public Hearing" which the City Commission of the City df
La Porte hereby finds was properly mailed to' the owners of
all properties located within two hundred (200) feet of the
properties under consideration.
Section 2. The Publisher's Affidavit of publication of
notice of said hearing is attached hereto as "Exhibit B,"
incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for

all purposes.
Section 3. Subsequent to such public hearing, the City
of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission met in special
session on March 1, 1971, to consider the changes in classi-
fication which were the subject of such joint public hearing.
The City Commission of the City of La Porte is in receipt of
the written recommendations of the City of La Porte Planning
and Zoning Commission, by letter dated March 1, 1971, the
original of which letter is attached hereto as "Exhibit C,"
incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for
all purposes.

Section 4. The City Commission of the City of La Porte
hereby accepts the recommendation of the City of La Porte
Planning and Zoning Commission, and the zoning classification
of the hereinafter described parcel of land, situated within
the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, is hereby
changed in ac~ordance therewith, and the zoning classifica-
tion of said parcel of land shall hereafter be "District C--
Apartment and Commercial District," provided, however, that
no commercial use of said property shall be allowed, and
said property shall be used for either single-family residence,
residences, apartments, or townhouses. The description of

said parcel of land re-zoned is as follows, to-wit:
That certain tract or parcel of land, containing
27.21 acres of land, more or less, being bounded
on the north by Little Cedar Bayou; being
bounded on the east by the shoreline of
Galveston Bay; being bounded on the south by
the north line of Crescent Shores Subdivision;
and being bounded on the west by Park Avenue,
and being situated in the Johnson Hunter.Survey,
Harris County, Texas.
Section 5. It is specifically provided that that
portion of said tract lying north of Little Cedar Bayou
shall have no change in its present zoning classification.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and
