I:. . . ,'.' . . . . i ORDINANCE NO. 780-Y AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CER- TAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC- TIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The. City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby finds, determines and declares that heretofore, to-wit, on the 23rd day of October, 1974, at 7:00 P.M., a joint pub- lic hearing was' held before the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the City Commission, of the City of La Porte, Texas, pursuant to due notice, to consider the question of the possible re-classification of the 'zoning classification of the hereinafter described parcel of land. There is attached to this Ordinance as "Exhibit-A," and incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for all purposes, a copy of "Notice of Public Hearing" which the City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby finds was properly mailed to the owners of all properties located within two hundred feet (200') of the properties under consideration. Section 2. The Publisher's Affidavit of Publication of notice of said hearing is attached hereto as "Exhibit B," incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for all purposes. Seqtion 3. Subsequent to such public hearing, the City of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission met in special session on October 23, 1974, to consider the changes in classifiqation which were the subject of such joint public hearing. The City Commission of the City of La Porte is in receipt of the written recommendations of the City of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission, by letter dated October 23, 1974, the original of which letter is attached hereto as "Exhibit C," incorporated by reference herein, and made a part ...', hereof for all purposes. The City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby accepts'the recommendation of the City of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission, and the zoning classification of the hereinafter described parcel of land, situated within the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, is hereby changed in accordance therewith, and the zoning classification of said parcel of land shall hereafter be "District C-- Apartment and Commercial District." Special uses, including Light Industrial, may be authorized hereafter by special permits granted in appropriate cases and subject to certain conditions and safeguards as might be required, after due notice and hearing. The description of said parcel of land re-zoned is as follows, to-wit: The West one-half (W.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Thirty-five (1135), Block Eleven Hundred Thirty-six (1136), Block Eleven Hundred Thirty-seven (1137), East one-half (E.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Thirty- eight (1138), East one-half (E.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Forty-three (1143), Block Eleven Hundred Forty-four (1144), Block Eleven Hundred FortY-five (1145), Block Eleven Hundred Seventy-one (1171), Block Eleven Hundred Seventy-two (1172), Block Eleven Hundred Seventy-three (1173), East one-half (E.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Seventy-four (1174), East one-half (E.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Seventy- nine (1179) , Block Eleven Hundred Eighty (1180), Block Eleven Hundred Eighty-one (1181), and West one-half (W.l/2) of Block Eleven Hundred Eighty-two (1182), Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas.
