ORDINANCE NO. 780-EE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE
ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT
CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. .Th~ Qity Commission of the City of La Porte
hereby finds, determines and declares that heretofore, to-wit,
on the 1st day of December, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., a joint
public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commis-
sion, and the City Commission, of the City of La Porte, Texas,
pursuant to due notice, to consider the question of the possible
re-classification' of the 20ning cl.assification of the herein-
after described parcel of land. There is attached to this
Ordinance as "Exhibit '1\.," and inco~porated by reference herein
and made a part hereof for all purposes, a copy of "Notice of
Public Hearing" which the City Commission of the City of
La Porte hereby finds was properly mailed to the owners of
all properties located within two hundred feet (200') of the
properties under consideration.
Section 2. The Publisher's Affidavit of publication of
notice of said hearing is attached hereto as "Exhibit B, II
incorporate? by reference herein and made a part hereof for
all purposes.
Section 3. Subsequent to such. public hearing, the City
of La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission met in special
session on December 1, 1975, to consider the changes in classi-
fication which were the subject of such joint public hearing.
The City Commission of the City of La Porte is in receipt of
the written recommendations of the City of La Porte Planning
and Zoning Commission, by letter dated December 1, 1975, the
original of which letter is attached hereto as "Exhibit C,"
incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for
all purposes.

Section 4. The City Commission of the City of La Porte
hereby accepts the recommendation of the City of La Porte
Planning and Zoning Commission, and the zoning classifications
of the hereinafter described parcels of land, situated within
the corporate limits of the City of La Porte, are hereby
changed in accordance 'therewith, and the zoning classifications
of said parcels of land shall hereafter be as follows, to-wit:
(a) Lots Seventeen (17) to Thirty-two (32), both
inclusive~ Block Eleven Hundred Twenty-one
(1121), Town of La Porte, Harris County,
Texas, shall hereafter be "District C--
Apartment and Commercial District," provided,
however, tha't no commercial use of said
property shall be allowed.
(b) Lots Seventeen (17) to Thirty-two (32), both
inclusive, Block Eleven Hundred Sixty (1160),
Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall
hereafter be "District C--Apartment and Com-
mercial District," provided, however, that no
commerclal Use of said property shall be
allowed.
(c) In addition, .,the re-zoning of said Lots Seven-
teen (17) to'Thirty-two (32), both inclusive,
Block Eleven Hundred Sixty (1160), Town of
La Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall be sub-
ject to the following .special conditions,
to-wit: '
(1) Townhouses or apartments only, may be
constructed on said property.
(2) Said townhouses or apartments must front
on Oregon Street, only.
(3) No townhouse or apartment, with entrances
above the ground floor, shall be permitted.
Either one-story flats, or multi-story
studios, apartments or townhouses may be
constructed on the subject property.
(4) There sh~ll be a twenty-five foot (25')
building setback line on Oregon Street,
and the front yard area shall be land-
scaped.
(5) No drive~ay entrances shall be permitted
from Oregon Street, and no off-street
parking shall be permitted in the front
yard area on Oregon Street.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and
after its passage and approval.
