ORDINANCE NO. 780- BBB
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE
ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN
PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby
finds, determines and declares that heretofore, to-wit, on the

22nd day of October, 1980, at 7:00 P.M., a joint public hearing
was held before the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the City
Council, of the City of La Porte, Texas, pursuant to due notice,
to consider the question of the possible re-classification of
the zoning classification of the hereinafter described parcel
of land. There is attached to this Ordinance as nExhibit A,II
and incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for
all purposes, a copy of IINotice of Public Hearingll which the
City Council of the City of La Porte hereby finds was properly
mailed to the owners of all properties located within two hundred
feet (200') of the properties under consideration.

Section 2. The Publisher's Affidavit of publication of
notice of said hearing is attached hereto as "Exhibit B,ll incor-
porated by reference herein and made a part hereof for all purposes.
Section 3. Subsequent to such public hearing, the City of
La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission met in special session
on October 22, 1980, to consider the changes in classification
which were the subject of such joint public hearing. The City
Council of the City of La Porte is in receipt of the wri tten
recommendations of the City of La Porte Planning and Zoning Com-
mission, by letter dated October 22, 1980, the original of which

letter is attached hereto as "Exhibit C," incorporated by ref-
erence herein, and made a part hereof for all purposes.

Section 4. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby
accepts the recommendation of the City of La Porte Planning and
Zoning Commission, and the zoning classifications of the herein-
after described parcels of land, situated within the corporate
limits of the City of La Porte, are hereby changed in accordance
therewith, and the zoning classifications of said parcels of
land shall hereafter be as follows, to-wit:

(a) Lots Seventeen (17) to Thirty-two (32), both
inclusive, Block Eleven Hundred Twenty-one
(1121), Town of La Porte, Harris County,
Texas, shall hereafter be "District C--
Apartment and Commercial District," provided,
however, that no commercial use of said
property shall be allowed.
(b) Lots Seventeen (17) to Thirty-two (32), both
inclusive, Block Eleven Hundred Sixty (1160),
Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall
hereafter be "District C--Apartment and Com-
mercial District," provided, however, that
no commercial use of said property shall be
allowed.

(c) In addition, the re-zoning of said Lots
Seventeen (17) to Thirty-two (32), both
inclusive, Block Eleven Hundred Sixty (1160),
Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, shall
be subject to the following special conditions,
to-wit:
(1) Townhouses or apartments only may be
constructed on said property.
Section 5. All ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed,
to the extent of conflict only.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after
its passage and approval.
