. e .. ..., ORDINANCE NO. 818 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE REGULAR ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON APRIL 22, 1969, FOR THE ELECTION OF A CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION 1, AND A CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION 3. WHEREAS, there was held in the City of La Porte, on the 22nd day of Apr~l, 1969, an election for the purpose of electing a City Commissioner, Position One (1), and a City Commissioner, Position Three (3), each to serve for a two-year term; and WHEREAS, there were cast at said election for the following listed persons the number of votes opposite their A;, ., v~ respective names: City Commissioner, Position 1: E. A.. "Buck" Thomas 205 Lois J. Compton 200 City Commissioner, Position 3: Bobby J. Bu:rgin 342 as shown in the official election returns heretofore delivered by the Election Ju~ge and officials to the Mayor and City " conunissioners of the City of La Porte and submitted to the City Commission; now, therefore, e BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY "OF LA PORTE: Section 1. That said election was duly called and notice thereof given in accordance with law; that said election was held in the manner required by law; that-due returns of said election have been made by the proper officers; that said returns have been canvassed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte; that a,total of 409 persons voted at said election, including persons voting on the regular voting machines, and on the absentee voti~g, machine; that said election has resulted in the election of the following named persons as City Commis- _. sioner~ of the City of La Porte, to-wit:
