<br />.~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 822 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />COMPOSED OF THREE MEMBERS; SE~TING THE DATE OF <br />ITS FIRST MEETING; AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS <br />AND DUTIES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1.: <br /> <br />The hereinafter named three residents, <br /> <br />each of whom is a qualified voter and real property owner in <br /> <br />the City of La Porte, are hereby appointed to the Board of <br />Equalization for a one-year term, or until their successors shall <br />have been appointed: <br /> <br />Charles R. Norris <br /> <br />Frank R. Boyle. Jr. <br /> <br />D. F. Sheffield <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Such Board of Equalization shall choose <br /> <br />from its membership a Chairman. The City Tax Assessor-Collector <br />shall be ex-oficio Secretary of the Board. A majority of said <br />Board shall cons~itute a quorum for the transaction of business. <br />The Board of Equalization shall hold its first meeting at a time <br />to be set by it, on the 10~ day of March, 1969, or as soon there- <br />after as practicable. <br />Section 3. The Board of Equalization shall have all of <br />the powers and duties prescribed by Article VIII, Sections 76 <br />through 79, both inclusive, of the City Charter of the City of <br />La Porte. <br /> <br />Section 4.
