ORDINANCE NO, 98-1890-B AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 46-5, BONDS AND MINIMUM FINES, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY REVISING THE SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE MUNICIPAL COURT; AUTHORIZING THE COLLECTION OF COURT COSTS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE; AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING OF SUCH SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES ON THE REVERSE OF THE VIOLATOR'S COPY OF TRAFFIC CITATIONS; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Section 3. The Clerk of the City of La Porte Municipal Court is hereby authorized to accept. upon a written plea of guilty or upon a written plea of nolo contendere, the amount shown opposite each of the above described offenses, as a minimum fine therefor, without the necessity of the violator appearing in Court. Section 4, All ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict only. Section 5, The City Council officially finds, determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the o RIG I N p\ .--, _ Ordinance NO. 98-1890-B. Page 13 . time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. Section 6.
