HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1990-1678 . e ORDINANCE NO. 1678 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTEi MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACTi AUTHORIZING NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF THE OFFER OF THE LAND FOR SALEi FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAWi AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITy COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The City of La Porte is the owner of the real property described by metes and bounds on Exhibit nAil attached hereto, incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for all purposes. The City Council of the City of La Porte finds, determines, and declares that such real property herein described does not constitute a public square, park, or site for the City Hall or other municipal building, nor an abandoned part of a street or alley, and that the provisions of Section 253.001, Texas Local Government Code, are not applicable to this sale. Section 2. The City Council of the City of La Porte finds, determines and declares that the real property described herein is not needed or useful to the City of La Porte, and that notice to the general public of the offer of the land for sale shall be published in the Bayshore Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of La Porte, Harris County, Texas. The notice shall be published on two (2) separate dates and the sale shall not be made until the fourteenth (14th) day after the date of the second publication. The notice shall be in form attached hereto as Exhibit nB", incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 3. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites and d~clares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotatedi and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. . . ORDINANCE NO. 1678 Page 2 Section 4.
