ORDINANCE NO. 1832
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND IN
THE FAIRMONT PARK SUBDIVISION, TO BE DEDICATED FOR USE AS PUBLIC
PARK PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE
OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section l. The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of
the property shown as Tracts RAR, RDR, and RER, on a plat attached
hereto as Exhibit RAR, incorporated by reference herein for all
purposes, and more particularly described by metes and bounds in two
(2) deeds attached hereto as Exhibits RBR and RCR, incorporated by
reference herein for all purposes; from Eddie V. Gray, Trustee, and
G. Decker McKim, Trustee, for a total price of $65,099.58 cash. The
purchase price is hereby appropriated from the General Capital
Improvement Fund. When purchased, such property is hereby dedicated
to public park purposes of the City of La Porte.
Section 2.
The City Council officially finds, determines,
recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date,
hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was
posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the
City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as
required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised
Civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance
and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and
formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves
and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting
thereof.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after
its passage and approval, and it is so ordered.

That I, EDDIE V. GRAY, TRUSTEE (hereinafter called "Grantors" whether one or
more) of Harris County, Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of TEN AND NOIlOO
DOLLARS ($10.00) and other good and valuable consideration to us in hand paid by CITY OF
LA PORTE (hereinafter called "Grantees", whether one or more) of Harris County, Texas, the
receipt and sufficiency of. which is hereby acknowledged and confessed;
Hayc GRANTED, SOLD and CONVEYED and by these presents do GRANT, SELL
and CONVEY unto the said Grantees herein of the County of Harris, State of Texas, the
following described real property in Harris County, Texas:

TRAct 11: 1.739 acres of hmd out of the W, M. Jones Survey, A-482, Harris
County, Texas and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the Southeasterly right-or-way
line of Hillridge Road, 60 feet wide, according to Fairmont Park, Section 1 as
recorded in Volume 52, Page 21 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas,
with the Northeast right-or-way line of Big Island Slough, 150 feet wide;
THENCE Northeasterly, with the Southeasterly right-of-way line of
Hillridge Road, along a <;:urve to the left whose radius is 1301.64 feet and central
angle is 50 03' 12" and whose long chord bears North 590 32' 03" East, a
distance, measured along the arc, of 114.80 feet to a point for comer;
THENCE South 3211 10' 40" East, at a distance of 25,00 feet pass the
most Westerly comer of that certain },108 acre tract of land conveyed to the City
of La Porte, Texas, by deed under Harris County Clerk File No. , Film
Code of the Records of Real Property of Harris County, Texas and
continuing with a Southwe.st line of said 1.108 acre tract, a distance, in all, of
407.70 feet to a 11.1 inch iron pipe for corner;
THENCE South 490 16' 24" West, a distance of 247.70 feet to a point for
comer on the said Northeast right-or-way line of Big Island Slough;

Harris County, Texas and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the Southeasterly right-or-way
line of Hillridge Road, 60' feet wide, with the Southwest right-of-way line of
Collingswood Road, 60 feet wide, according to Fairmont Park, Section 1 as
recorded in Volume 52, Page 21 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas;
THENCE South 550 58' 00" East, with the Southwest right-of-way line
of Collingswood Road, a distance of 39.95 feet to a point of curve;
THENCE Southeasterly, continuing with the Southwesterly right-of-way
tine of Collingswood Road, along a curve to the left whose radius is 2173.13 feet
and central angle is 10 19' 06", a distance of 50.00 feet to the most Easterly
Northwest comer of that certain i.108 acre tract of land conveyed to the City of
La Porte, Texas, by deed under Harris County Clerk File No. , Film

THENCE South 250 14' 50" West. with a Northwest line of said 1.108
acre tract, a distance of 59.17 feet to an angle point;
THENCE South 790 20' 50" West, continuing with a Northwest line of
said 1.108 acre tract. a distance of 64.80 feet to an angle point;
THENCE Nonh 470 10' 16" West, continuing with a Northeast line of
said 1.108 acre tract, a distance of 80,56 feet to a point for corner on the said

THENCE Northeasterly, with the Southeasterly right-or-way line of
