SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION
The Texas Department of Transportation (TexDOT) has conducted a traffic investigation of the
intersection ofSH 146 and Wharton Weems Blvd. Although a traffic signal was not warranted
at this time, TexDOT determined that flashing warning signals were advisable. The proposed
installation will be constructed with a future traffic signal as part of the design. When future
development occurs in the area, signal heads can be installed quickly and cost-effectively. There
will be no construction or O&M costs to the City,
Action Required bv Council: Approve an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an
agreement with TexDOT for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of SH 146 and
Wharton Weems Blvd,
