RESOLUTION NO.- f z.,. ""2.-
WHEREAS, the massive population 'growth of Harris County
has placed great strain on County roads, flood control, parks
and public service facilities: and
WHEREAS, Harris County Commissioners Court has called a
capital improvemen.ts bond election to be held February 23, 1982;
and
WHEREAS, all bond propositions are vital to the continued
prosperity of Harris County residents whether they live in
unincorporated areas or within municipalities; and
WHEREAS, civic leaders, community groups and concerned
citizens have been and will continue ,to be involved in the
planning and completion of all County bond improvements; and
WHEREAS, voter approval of all County bond propositions
will not require an increase in the present County tax rate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE
that said Council hereby endorses all propositions for Harris
County capital improvements listed on the February 23, 1982
ballot; and be it further resolved that we urge all registered
voters in Harris County to exercise their constitutional right
to vote in this very important election on February 23, 1982.
