<br />.~- <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. g 7- I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING A WATER CONSERVATION PLAN AND DROUGHT CONTIN- <br />GENCY PLAN OF THE LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY; FINDING COMPLI- <br />ANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the La Porte Area Water Authority is in the pro- <br /> <br />cess of issuing its revenue bonds for purchase of capacity in the <br /> <br />Ci ty of Houston Southeast Water Purification Plant and construction <br /> <br />of a potable water transmission and distribution system from <br /> <br />said plant to the Citys of La Porte, Shoreacres, and Morgans Point, <br /> <br />and the Bayshore Municipal Utility District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Water Development Board has committed to <br /> <br />purchase the bonds from the Authority, subject to the Authority's <br /> <br />complying with the various rules and regulations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Water Development Board's rules require <br /> <br />that the Authority adopt a Water Conservation and Drought Contin- <br /> <br />gency Plan which has been approved by the Executive Director <br /> <br />of the Texas Water Development Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Authority has previously submitted to the Texas <br /> <br />Water Development Board a proposed Water Conservation and Drought <br /> <br />Contingency Plan which has been reviewed and commented upon by the <br /> <br />Texas Water Development Board and the Authority has made certain <br /> <br />required changes therein and has required the constituant entities <br /> <br />of the La Porte Area Water Authority to pass certain ordinances <br /> <br />related thereto as required by the Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the La Porte Area Water <br /> <br />Authority has determined that there is an urgent need and it is <br /> <br />in the best public interest of the La Porte Area Water Authority <br /> <br />and its constituant entities to adopt a Water Conservation and <br /> <br />Drought Contingency plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the La Porte Area Water <br /> <br />Authority now desires to evidence its approval of the Water <br /> <br />Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan and adopt such plan as <br /> <br />the official policy of the La Porte Area Water Authority; <br />
