<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-6 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES WHENEVER FEASIBLE, <br />APPROPRIATE AND LAWFUL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte <br />recognizes that local economic development enhances the quality <br />of life of its citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte <br />recognizes that purchasing the City's supplies and services <br />from local businesses whenever feasible, appropriate and lawful <br />enhances local economic development. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />Section 1. That the City Council of the City of La Porte, <br />Texas, hereby offers its support for the economic development <br />of La Porte by purchasing its supplies and services from local <br />businesses whenever feasible, appropriate and lawful. <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby offers its support of <br />local economic development by making itself and City staff <br />personnel available to aid and cooperate with any and all <br />efforts it feels will enhance local economic development, <br />including the encouragement of local businesses to enter the <br />bidding and proposal process with the City to the extent <br />feasible, appropriate and lawful. <br />Section 1.
