AN ORDINANCE M1ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1285-D, "AN ORDINANCE HiPLE-
l-1ENTING POLICEMEN I S CIVIL SERVICE ; ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATIONS;
NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION; ESTABLISH-
ING PAY SCHEDULES; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COM-
PLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; CONTAINING A ~PEALING CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THS CITY OF LA PORTE,
TEXAS:
Section Three: Section 3 of Ordinance 1285-D is hereby amended
and shall hereafter read as follows, 'to wit:
." Section '3. II Ther~ are 'hereby established the following number

and' shall hereafter read as follows', to wit:

Section 6. 'The City Council officially finds, determines,
recites, and declares that a sufficient written riotice of the date,
hour, place and subject of th{s meeting of the City Council was
posted' at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the
City for the time required by law preceding this me~tirig,'as required
by the Open Meetings Law, Ad:icle 6'25 7-17, Texas Revised Ci'vi'l Statut(:~
Annotated; and that this meeting' has been open to the public as re-'
. .
quired by law at all times' during which this ordinance and the subject
matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon.
'The City Cou~cil further ratifies, approves and confirms such written
notice and the contents and posting thereof.
Section 7~' This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force as
of October 1, 1987.
