Budgeted Item: YES NO Exhibits: SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION On July 26t\ Council approved that a Public Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Proposed Budget be held on Monday, September 13, 2009, at the regularly scheduled Council meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m. The City Council held budget workshops on August 9 through August 11, 2009 to discuss proposed budgets for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2010 and ending September 30,2011. The following presentation summarizes the result of the workshops held with City Council. All changes made by Council were incorporated into the various budgets. These changes include: Compounding Merit $40,000 added for the Northside Housing Project $360,000 added for Bulk heading at the Golf Course $175,000 added for Sector 23 Street Paving In addition, $8,400 has been added to the Hotel/Motel Fund Proposed Budget for the Hotel/Motel Audits to be conducted by Muni Services. This service has identified $71,298 in additional revenues for the City. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of La Porte, Texas, and the Statutes of the State of Texas, require that an annual budget be prepared and presented to the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas, prior to the beginning of the fiscal year of said City, and that a public hearing be held prior to the adoption of said Budget; and WHEREAS, the Budget for the fiscal year October 1, 2010, through September 30, 2011, has heretofore been presented to the City Council and due deliberation had thereon, was filed in the office of the City Secretary on July 26, 2010, and a public hearing scheduled for September 13, 2010 was duly advertised and held.
