. e RESOLUTION NO. ~ OOLJ.......Q 1 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM FOR BEAUTIFICATION AND TRAIL SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte recognizes the need for a Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail System to provide a city-wide network of trails and connections to neighboring communities, Including additional park trails, connection trails, hike & bike trails, equestrian trails, and nature trails for the City, and WHEREAS, The City Council also recognizes the need for City-sponsored beautifications efforts to make La Porte a more attractive, livable and enjoyable city in which to live, work, and play; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to provide a program for VOluntary contributions from its utility customers, and that any proceeds from these voluntary contributions to be used to supplement budgeted funding for the purposes stated herein; and WHEREAS, the contributions made shall be made freely and willingly to the City by utility bill customers and that the proceeds shall be utilized for the purposes stated herein and in a manner duly prescribed by the City's fiscal budget process; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: I. That the Voluntary Contribution Program provision to be placed on the City's utility bills, with check blocks for $1, $2, or Other. Each contribution to be set aside for the purpose of supplemental funding of beautification and Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail System projects as designated and approved by the City's Administration, through its fiscal budgeting processes.
