<br />. e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ~ OOLJ.......Q 1 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE <br />VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM FOR BEAUTIFICATION <br />AND TRAIL SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION <br />FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte recognizes the need for a Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail System to <br />provide a city-wide network of trails and connections to neighboring communities, Including additional <br />park trails, connection trails, hike & bike trails, equestrian trails, and nature trails for the City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City Council also recognizes the need for City-sponsored beautifications efforts to make La Porte a <br />more attractive, livable and enjoyable city in which to live, work, and play; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to provide a program for VOluntary contributions from its utility <br />customers, and that any proceeds from these voluntary contributions to be used to supplement budgeted <br />funding for the purposes stated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the contributions made shall be made freely and willingly to the City by utility bill customers and that the <br />proceeds shall be utilized for the purposes stated herein and in a manner duly prescribed by the City's <br />fiscal budget process; NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I. <br />That the Voluntary Contribution Program provision to be placed on the City's utility bills, with check blocks for $1, <br />$2, or Other.
