RESOLUTION 2021-64 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of La Porte foreclosed on a property("the property")through a delinquent tax lawsuit <br /> and judgment identified as follows: <br /> LOTS 25 & 26,BLOCK 974, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY,TEXAS (ACCOUNT # <br /> 024-14&000-0025) <br /> WHEREAS,the City of La Porte remains unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the collection <br /> of the delinquent taxes due and owing to the City of La Porte,including conducting a public auction of the <br /> property by the Harris County Sheriff whereby the property was struck off to the City of La Porte;and <br /> WHEREAS,being no bids for the property at the tax sale on December 4, 1923,the City of La Porte now <br /> holds the property in trust to secure the payment of taxes, penalties, interest and costs owed to the City of <br /> La Porte;and <br /> WHEREAS,the property held in trust by the City of La Porte is exempt from taxation and it is in the best <br /> interest of the City of La Porte to have the property returned to the active tax roll as a taxable property;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of La Porte has received an offer of$20,100.00 to purchase the property from Quest <br /> Trust Company FBO Patrick Mulhern Acct.No. 1409012. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br /> 1. That all of the above paragraphs are true,correct and in the best interest of the City of La Porte and <br /> as such they are hereby incorporated in full and made a part of this Resolution; <br /> 2.
