Mr. Huber.
Per a conversation I had with Charlie Christ today (9/18), we've acknowledged
the Building Code requirement of having restroom facilities within 500 feet of
occupied space for the Spec 15 build out project.
The drawings for this project which we submitted to you for plan review and
permitting, dated August 30, 2007, will only be for occupancy and use of the east
half of the Spec 15 shell building, or 500' from the east exterior wall of the
building.
Thank you for your ongoing review and comment on this project, and others we
will submit to you at the City of La Porte in the future. Additionally, we here at
CDC appreciate your continued direction regarding the drawing submittal
process to your City.

No need to get another building permit just because you now gave us electrical drawings. You already have a
partial build out permit for 10051 Porter Rd. Just have your electrician come in and get his electrical permit for
this job. Before he comes in to get his electrical permit, I need for you or Mark to call me today asap to talk about
the electrical meter situation. The drawings reflect only one meter. Is that the way you want it?? Or do you plan
to have a house meter and separate meters for the tenants??? Call meat 281-628-5994 this morning. I will be
out of the office all next week so I want to wrap this up asap. Thanks MH
CLIFF, can you come by my office today and look at the one sheet electrical drawing they have submitted on this

We are submitting herewith a full set *of Architectural and Electrical drawings for
our Spec 15 shell building build out, dated October 23, 2007, for plan review and
permitting.
Upon City of La Porte review and approval, the building permit received from
these drawings will only be for occupancy and use of a portion of the east half of
the Spec 15 shell building — up to 375' from the east exterior wall of the building
(up to grid line 26). This allows for a maximum unobstructed path of 500' of
travel to the restrooms from anywhere within that space.
Thank you for your review and comment on this project, and others we will
submit to you at the City of La Porte in the future. Additionally, we here at CDC
appreciate your continued direction regarding the drawing submittal process to
your City.

We did a Hydro on 12/13/07 and were not notified that they were ready for a final sprinkler, and we also haven't
been notified by them about a fire alarm or final fire alarm. Clif said he hasn't seen Fire Alarm plans on this
location, the file only has plan reviews for the above ground and the interior build out.

CLIFF,
Back in September 07, we issued a Fire Sprinkler Permit for this building. According to our file , we have no
records of an inspection and approval from the Fire Marshal's office. Please send me an e-mail as to status.
Also , your plan review comments mentioned a fire alarm requirement. Our file does not show a fire alarm permit
and\or inspection.
Our file also shows NO OCCUPANT is utilizing this building yet. Clay Dev. may be waiting until an occupant is
ready to occupy before fire alarm installation, but I am only guessing. Is that ok with you??

Back in September 07 , we issued a building permit for a " Partial " 500' only interior build out.
No plumbing permit has been obtained and no plumbing inspections have been performed according to our job
file.
Only one electrical inspection has been performed by our department and that was on the outside lights only.
Bryan, I would like for you to make sure a plumbing permit is obtained asap. Then I would like for you to contact
Dwayne Manager 281-470-5070 , staff inspector, to set up a meeting with him at the jobsite for purposes of
inspecting and discussing what needs to be done to close out this job file.
Clay Development has applied for another partial build out on the West end of this building. We need to close out
this job file BEFORE the West end permit can be issued.
