ORDINANCE 2022-3893
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
<br />TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 1, 2022, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2023; FINDING
<br />THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE BEEN DONE IN PREPARATION
<br />AND PRESENTMENT OF SAID BUDGET; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN
<br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF
<br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of La Porte, Texas, and the Statutes of the State of Texas, require that
<br />an annual budget be prepared and presented to the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas, prior to the
<br />beginning of the fiscal year of said City, and that a public hearing be held prior to the adoption of said Budget;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, the Budget for the fiscal year October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023, has heretofore
<br />been presented to the City Council and due deliberation had thereon, was filed in the office of the City
<br />Secretary on August 2, 2022, and a public hearing scheduled for September 12, 2022, was duly advertised
<br />and held.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
<br />SECTION 1: That the Budget for the City of La Porte, Texas, now before the said City Council for
<br />consideration, a complete copy of which is on file with the City Secretary and incorporated hereto by
<br />reference, is hereby adopted as the Budget for the said City of La Porte, Texas, for the period of October 1,
<br />2022, through September 30, 2023.
<br />SECTION 2: Be it FURTHER ORDAINED, that the said City Council finds that all things requisite and
<br />necessary to the adoption of said Budget have been performed as required by charter or statute.
<br />SECTION 3: The City Council officially finds, determines, recites and declares that a sufficient written
<br />notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient
<br />to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by
<br />the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; and that this meeting has been open to the
<br />public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been
<br />discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms
<br />such written notice and the contents and posting thereof.
<br />SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage and approval.
<br />PASSED AND APPROVED this, the 12' day of September, 2022.
