Herrera <br />City Manager ' <br />City of LaPorte <br />City Hall <br />LaPorte, Texas <br /> <br />Re:All of Lots in Block 1224; <br />Town of LaPorte <br /> <br />Dear Bob: <br /> <br />In connection with this purchase by the City of LaPorte, I enclose herewith the <br />City's original Deed, from Elizabeth V., Weems, et aI, which has been recorded <br />under Harris County Clerk's file, No. K598289, and the City'S OWner Title Policy <br />in the amount of the purchase price, $22,956.99, subject only to the matters <br />shown thereon. <br /> <br />The original Deed and Title policy should be put in the City's permanent Real <br />Estate Records. <br /> <br />The following additional steps should be taken by the City: <br /> <br />1) The City was credited with tax proration to the date of the Deed, <br />June 11, 1986, at closing. The City should obtain 1986 tax bills, <br />when available, from each of the taxing agencies, on a prorated <br />basis from January 1, 1986 through June 11, 1986, and pay the same. <br /> <br />2) The City should notify the Harris County Appraisal District of this <br />purchase, and ask that the property be rendered in the name of the <br />City of LaPorte, and placed on the exempt rolls. <br /> <br />It was a pleasure to have been of service to YOU in this matter. <br /> <br />Yours very truly, <br /> <br />~t:J, <br /> <br />Knox W.
