RE: Amendment-CATV Franchise
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
For technical reasons, we would
CATV transmitting facilities for
proximity of Underwood Road and
pinpointing the exact location.
Deer Park • La Porte • Pasadena • South Houston
A Harte-Hanks Communications Company
July 31, 1980
like to be able to build our
LaPorte at a location in the
Carlow. A map is enclosed
At this time, this location is not technically in the exact
city limits of LaPorte although the area is under the extra
territorial jurisdiction of the city and no doubt will be
annexed in the near future. This site would contain a 1,000 to
2,000 square foot building and the transmitting facilities
required for operating the LaPorte Cable TV system.
I would appreciate your consideration of an amendment to the
franchise which would permit this facility to fulfill the
requirement for a "office" to be located within the city limits
of LaPorte. The office at the location in question would be
manned during regular hours by full-time company employees.
Thank you very much for your consideration.

Dear Mr. Clester:
PORTE
• LA PORTE, TEXAS 77571
The La Porte City Commission, at its regular meeting of
August 6, 1980, has approved the request contained in
your letter of July 31, 1980, requesting permission to
build your CATV transmitting facilities for La Porte at
a location in the proximity of Underwood Road and Carlow,
west of Underwood Road, and located in the Spenwick Place
Municipal Utility District.
This location is in the exclusive extraterritorial juris-
diction of the City of La Porte, and it is anticipated
that the Spenwick Place Municipal Utility District will
be annexed by the City of La Porte within the next few
years.
Our city attorney is of the opinion that no formal
amendment of the franchise is necessary, and that the
City Commission action in this letter will provide
adequate documentation for each of our files.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter.
Yours very truly,
CITY OF LA PORTE
