'fl Councilperson District <br />BRENT MCCAULLEY ROBERT GUERRA <br />Councilperson At Large B O m Councilperson District 4 <br />CHUCK ENGELKEN JAY MARTIN <br />Mayor Pro Tam Councilperson District 5 <br />Councilperson District 2 ROBBIE MCLARRIN <br />u n•x•s Councilperson District <br />NOTICE OF POSSIBLE QUORUM OF THE LA PORTE CITY <br />COUNCIL AND/OR THE INVESTIGATION OF RETAIL <br />OPPORTUNITES AD HOC COMMITTEE <br />AT A TOWN HALL <br />Notice is hereby given of a possible quorum of the La Porte City Council and/or the <br />Investigation of Retail Opportunities Ad Hoc Committee at a town hall open to the <br />public, to be held on December 2, 2024, at 5 p.m. at the City Hall Council chamber, <br />604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas. <br />The town hall is to cover the Committee's charge below: <br />Purpose: <br />To establish an ad hoc committee to investigate and report back to the City Council on potential <br />retail opportunities within the City of La Porte, Texas. The committee will thoroughly investigate <br />available properties, zoning regulations, and the needs and interests of the community to ensure <br />any retail development aligns with the City's goals and residents' desires. <br />Objectives: <br />• Property Availability: Identify and evaluate properties within the city limits that are suitable <br />for retail development, including both vacant land and underutilized properties. <br />• Current Zoning: Review existing zoning regulations to determine their compatibility with <br />potential retail development and recommend any necessary changes to support new retail <br />opportunities. <br />• Public Need: Assess the types of retail services and businesses that are currently lacking <br />in the City and would fulfill unmet needs. <br />• Public Interest: Conduct surveys, public meetings, or other forms of outreach to gather <br />input from residents and stakeholders regarding desired retail opportunities. <br />SHOULD A QUORUM OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND/OR THE COMMITTEE ATTEND, <br />NO DELIBERATION OR FORMAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AT THIS EVENT. <br />DATE POSTED: 11/4/24 <br />TIME POSTED: 4:30 p.m. <br />TAKEN DOWN: <br />Lee Woodward, City Secretary <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
