• <br />Tvt Ih'UTES <br />CITY COUNCIL OF LA PORTF, TEXAS. <br />NovEMBER 22,1937, 8:0o P.~~. <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Sharp, with the following Aldermen <br />responding to roll call: <br />C.T~F. Agee,. F.R. Boyle, J.J. Eoark, Fred R. Ruff. <br />Td?inutes of the l~.st meeting were read an8 approved. <br />League,Texas N!r C.C. Crutchfield, field representative of the League of Texas A5u- <br />~unicipal- nicipalities, appeared before the Council to discuss the benefits to <br />the City of a membership in the League. Following an interesting dis- <br />t:ember cession a motion was presented by Agee, second by Ruff, that the City <br />of La Porte become a member of the League of Texas Municipalities for <br />the stated sum of X20.00 and that the City Secretary be authorized to <br />draw a warraf~t for that amount and forward to the League Headquarters <br />in Austin, Texas, Carried. <br />Petty Cash Motion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the Petty Cash be renewed in the <br />amount of ~15,11~. Carried. <br />water TanSr T~"otion by Ruff, second by Roark, that the City accept the ~20.OQ check <br />`TUCK of Harold Kirkpatrick in payment for the old Truck dater Tank from the <br />Fire Department equipment and confirm the bill of sal® given Tutr Kirk- <br />patrick for same by Alderman Boyle. Carried. <br />Firemen's T."-otion by Ruff, second by Boyle, that the City Secretary be authorized <br />Prizes to issue a warrant in favor of the La Porte Volunteer Fire Department <br />in the amount of X100,00 to cover the prizes offered by the City to the <br />Firemen for the year. Carried. <br />yYiring The Spacial Building Committee reported that the contract for the elee- <br />Garage trical wiring of the garage building was awarded to ,,"R.O. Sorenson on his <br />Accepted ~~ bid of X78,60 and that the work has been satisfactorily completed. <br />Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the electric wiring job on the <br />City garage be accepted and that a warrant in the amount of X78.60 be <br />drawn in favor of ~t.0. Sorenson, as per contract. Carried. <br />Check ?~Botion by Boyle, second by Roark, that the Special Building Committee <br />Lumber Bill check the bill for lumber for the garage building submitted by the <br />La Porte Lumber Co. and if found to be correct that the City Secretary <br />be authorized to draw a warrant in payment of same.
