<br />MINUT ~ <br />LA PORTE CITY COt?NC IL <br />NOVEb4BER 27,1939, 8 : ~ P.M. <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Sharp with the following Aldermen <br />present: C.M. Agee, J.J. Roark„ Fred R. Ruff. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Bills ~"otion by Agee, second by Ruff that the bill of the Gulf Cities Nat. Gas Co. <br />in the amount of ~1.5l~ and bill of ':"~.R. Vickers in the amount of X2.50 be <br />ordered paid. C~xried. <br />~Tarrants The City Secr°tary reported need of post cards for water bills. Motion by Agee, <br />second by Roark that warrant for $10.00 for 1,000 post cards be allowed and <br />that U'~arrant No. 3185 in the amount of X3.00 to O.F. Walzell be ratified. <br />Carried. <br />Nelson The City Secretary reported that the City's Anticipating Warrant No. 31t~.t, <br />dated November 1,1939, in favor of Mrs Lillian Nelson, in the amount of <br />X300.00 and due on or before January31,19~.0, had been paid with interest <br />in the amount of 90 cents. This was the final payment due Mrs Nelson on <br />Lots 17 ~c 18, Block 39, City of La Yorte. <br />Vickers The City Secretary reported that Harold Vickers had made a deposit of X58.00 <br />Deposit with the City to cover his 2/`j of the cost of-apxosdin~ 60 yards of shell, <br />delivered, ~ $1.15 per yard, spread, on First Street from the N.E. corner of <br />Shell Lot 18, Block 110, La torte to the S.E. corner of Lot 27, Block 131, La Porte, <br />a distance of approximately 270 feet. Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that <br />the City buy 100 yards of shell from V'7.A. Arthur at X1.10 per yard, 60 yards <br />to be used on the above described shelling on First Street, the balance for <br />general City use. Carried. <br />Prestone The City secretary was instructed to get prices from the different filling <br />stations in town on Ever Ready Prestone to be put in the radiators of the <br />City Trucks for the winter. <br />Time laiotion by Agee, second by Roark that A.S. Hamilton and L.L. Price be in- <br />structed to work on their regular days off during the time Jack Olive is <br />gone, providing an extra man is not hired in Olive's place during that time. <br />Carried. <br />Raise Motion by Agee, second by Ruff, that the salary of the Assistant City Sec- <br />Sal. reta~!y be raised X10.00 per month, retroactive to November lst,1939• <br />Carried. <br />Special Motion by Ruff, second by Agee, that, beginning December 1st, 1939,,. twenty <br />eater Impt~'ive percent of all water collections be deposited in the special ~aater <br />Fund Improvements Fund, a separate bank account.
