<br />MINkJTE5 <br />LA FORTE CITY COtJNC IL <br />POSTPONED MEETING <br />DECEMBER 27,1839,8:00 P.M. <br />Meeting, which had been postponed from December 25th to December 27th,1939 <br />was called to order by the Mayor, with the following Aldermen present: <br />-P.L. Benson, ~'.R. Boyle,J.J. Roark, rred R. Ruff. <br />P.ginutes of the last meeting were read amd approved. <br />Sal. R.R. Busch appeared before the Council on the matter of the amount of sal- <br />City Marshal`~ry for the office of City ?~'Iarshall to be set by City Ordinance. After full <br />discussion it was agreed by the Council to hold over to the next regular <br />Council meeting, January 8,1940, the passage of the Ordinance fixing the sal- <br />aries of City officials to be elected at the City election in April. <br />The following bimis were ordered paid on motion by Ruff,second by Benson, <br />Bills R.L. Acker, $8.95, Warrant No. 3259 <br />League of Texas Municp. °$20.OO,War. No. 3260 <br />Carried. <br />B~arrants Motion by Ruff,second by Roark, that the following ~~arrants be ratified: <br />No.3239,J.~'J'. Davis,~1.60f No.321~0,~'.J. ArmstrQng,~1.60; T.& N.O. R.R.Co., <br />~1.OO,No. 321.. <br />Carried <br />'~ Water Motion by Boyle second by Benson, that the City Secretary be authorized <br />Pamphlets to purchase 50 pamphlets on ""~MFa.ter Metering & Water Estimating"' from <br />The Ambassador Co., Temple, Texas at 3 cents each. <br />Carried. <br />day Roll The City Secretary reported that on order of the Council the complete <br />monthly pay roll which was due December 31,1939, was paid on December <br />22nd, and that the weekly pay roll was paid through December 23rd, on <br />December 22nd,1939. Signed <`order ;~f Council was placed on file. <br />Septic Motion by Ruff second by Benson, that the matter of the discharge of the <br />Tank septic tank at the new Baptist parsonage on North A.St. be turned over to <br />the Street R, Alley Committee with power to act. <br />Carried. <br />Street Motion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that the City Secretary be instructed to <br />Lights Fite the Houston Lighting & Power Co. asking that the Street and Tower <br />Lights be adjusted so that they will burn until daylight, winter and sum- <br />mer. <br />Carried. <br />Fire ?~TOtion by Boyle, second by Ruff, that Jack Oliv® be asked to appear before <br />Siren the City Council at the next regular meeting, Jan.8,1940, to make temporary <br />arrangements on the matter of taking care of fire siren alarms during the <br />hours when the City office is closed. <br />Carried. <br />over <br />
