J. N. Johnson, J. J, <br />noark, T. F. Smith, Geore F. Norris, City atty. Kiibler, pity <br />Secretrry ,harp. <br />Minutes of the lm.st meeting were read and approved. <br />Motion by Koark, second by smith, that the City Uffico be <br />closed at 12:00 noon on veoember 2l~th and that the sala~•iss <br />of City employees be paid on December 21.~th. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by s5nith, second oy Johnson, that the City write a <br />letter to the commissioner's court requesting that the tunnel <br />at ,pillman's Island be oalled the La Forte Tunnel. <br />Carried. <br />The Mayor set the first meeting of the Council in January <br />to meet with the Chamber of commerce i,-nd the publiQ to dis- <br />duss zoning of pity whereby pity will approve certain types <br />of constrriation. <br />. F. <br />Mr. 1'001 ®r' the La torte Uhamber of Commerce met with the <br />,~ City "ouncil in regard to ~.ir to^t asquired by the pity. <br />1'he Mayor stated that the interim permit on n3.r Port had <br />been rec~bived ar~d Mr. Pool suggested that the Mayor and <br />the Uity xttor~-ey investigate the possibilities of getting <br />air Port on a more permanent basis and that letter be sent <br />to iPinr assets kegione.l Uffiee in houston in regard to getting <br />1-ir:~Port on a more permanent basis on terms that will allow <br />the City to sub-lease a sufficient portion for hangars. <br />Mr. Pool read a letter from Mandel do ryright on proposal to <br />lease a portion of air fort which letter nva6 ordered placed <br />on file. <br />Motion by Norris, second by Roark, that dir. Pool be appointed <br />to look after nit Port until final arrangements esn be made <br />ny pity for upkeep of field. <br />Carricd. <br />2'he ~fittter of trying to secure nit Pott on lease basis was <br />turned over to Mr. Fool and. City atty.
