M. <br />71 <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Jas. S. Crate, Jr. with the following members <br />and off~.cials pressnt: Commissioner Jas. E. Ste~Nart, Supt. of <br />Public Works Raleigh Erwin, City Attorney Jno. 3. Kiibler and <br />City Clerk J. E. Muldo®n. <br />M r. Knickerbocker and M r. Brown discussed with the Commission <br />and the City Engineers the matter o~ the proposed bonds for <br />sewer and water system improvements. They advised the Com- <br />mission that their ana~.ysis and survey had indicated that ap- <br />proximately ~300,000.OG would be the amount of bonds that the <br />City could safely issue. <br />Motion by Btewart, second by Crate, that the City accept the <br />recommendations of the Citizens Protective Association that <br />the assessed values for the year 1947 be increased 40~ over <br />the 1946 valuations and further that the City Clerk use the <br />equalized values and reduce the total thereof to the level of <br />the total of the assessed values on the 1 946 tax rolls and <br />add the new improvements and personal property and increase <br />all such values 40 Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate that the meeting adjourn. <br />ATTEST: <br />,,-'" <br />~~ <br />.
