~5 <br />MINUTES - S PEC IQL MEETING <br />LA PCHTE CITY CO~IAdISSION - Novr~ 25, 19.7 <br />l0:0o A. ~. <br />Special meeting of the City Coaenission was called to order by Mayor Pfeiffer <br />with the following memtbera and city officials present: Cemmissioaers Jas. S. <br />Crate Jr. and Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of F'ublio +War3cC Raleigh Erwin, Bohn T. <br />lac xfee and Vii. H. Yan:tss representing Hyatt C. Hedrick, City Ehgineer, City <br />Attorney Jno. S. giibler, and City Clerk J.E. Muldoon. <br />The Cc~nmission instructed the City Clerk to contact Mr. Cravens with the <br />State Highway Deps.rtment, and request him to be present at a apeoial meeting <br />to be held November 28th, 191.}7. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart that the City Cleric be authorized to <br />issue a check for X100.00 for Firemen's Prize Money,to the La Porte Volun- <br />teer Fire Departmexit. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart to authorize the City Clerk to accept <br />check in the sum of $1919.60, same being tender of 191N2 and 191.3 taxes and <br />penalties less impravem~ents, except X1000 value for each of the years <br />19ly2 anal 1913, on property owned by the Garden Oaks Coeapany, and known as <br />Sylvan Beach Park, containing 20.21} acres. <br />' Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, seocmd by Stewart to authorize the City Clerk to cancel <br />fra~n the 191x2 delinquent tax record, $9000.00 value, and X000.00 value <br />for the year 1913. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart to amend Ordinance No. 31~.to permit <br />8-inch walls and wood decking. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, seoond by Crate to aocmpt bid of B. F. Kilpatrick to <br />repair walls and painting downstairs interior of the City Ha11. This bid <br />covers materials and labor in the amount of $212.50. ~1a2.50 of this bid <br />is assumed by Jiannie Benson as per agreement with the City, dated Feb. <br />18, 191}6. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Stewart to authorize the City Clerk to issue <br />check to J.
