_...~ <br />x .~ <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />-~ LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION - JULY 1ST, 1961 <br />?-~ <br />~~ 9:00 A, M. <br />~~' Special. meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor Pro- <br />Tem Tom Osburn, with the following members present: Commissioners Dunham, <br />~' Brown and Stabs, City Attorney C. L. Pitman, and AssTt. City Clerk Ruth <br />:: :fud dleston. <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Osburn introduced a resolution. The resolution was read in <br />full and Commissioner W. A. Stabs moved that it be adopted. The motion <br />eras seconded by Commissioner 0. L. Brown and carried by the following <br />vote: AYES: Mayor Pfeiffer, Cornmi.ssioners Dunham, Brown, Osborn and <br />Stabs. NOES: None. The Resolution thus adopted follows: <br />Z~REAS, the area of Pine Blui'f, Bayside Terrace, Bay Oaks <br />Addition and Sha dy Oaks Addition, whz.ch are in the vicinity of the <br />City of La Porte, Texas, and which area has been annexed to said City <br />on first reading only; and <br />WHEREAS, such area has no adequa to common water works a nd <br />sanitary sewer sys tiem and does not have adequate drainage facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, such area needs such facilities for proper growth <br /> and development, and this City Commission is generally familiar with the <br /> proposed improvements desired in such area and wishes to cooperate with <br />c'; the citizens of such area to obtain same; <br />r. <br />~~ <br />Therefore <br />~. <br />$. <br />~~r~~ BE I'T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COr'IMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />~ LA PORTS, TEXAS: <br />~ <br />:~, <br /> That the Harris County delegation of the Texas Legislature, <br /> 1961, is hereby respectfully requested to support and aid in the <br />~, <br />;~;; intro duction and passage of a Bill at the current session of the Texas <br /> Legislature whereby the Bayshore Municipal District will be created in <br />'~ Harris County, Texas, so that the facilities mentioned in the preamble <br />~- hereof can be obtained for such area as soon as possible. <br />~?~S <br />,~ PASSED AP1D APPROVED this 1st day of July, 1961. <br /> <br />~.. <br /> (s) H.
