<br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COIL^ISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />NOVEMBER 16, 1970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I.J.Kibodeaux and Bobby J. Burgin. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner H.Gould Crofoot. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P. V. WERNER, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works and H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was offered by Commissioner Burgin. <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of November 2, 1970 <br />were approved as presented. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mr. James Spradling addressed the Commission in <br />regards to air pollution in the Fairmont Park area. <br />Mr. Spradling cited the Bayport industries and <br />other industries in the La Porte area and requested <br />the Commission to take action on the odor problem. <br />Mayor Smith requested Mr. Werner to prepare a <br />letter to be sent to Harris County officials <br />reporting the numerous complaints of odors and <br />asking them to take appropriate action. Also <br />that a copy of the letter be sent to the Friends- <br />wood Developement Corporation and the various <br />industries in the area. <br />Comm. Thomas asked that a resolution, explaining <br />the problem,be sent to the Texas Air Pollution <br />Board in Austin. <br /> <br />+ + + <br />
