The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members of citv Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob <br />McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell, Jerry <br />Clarke (arrived at 6:08 P.M.) <br /> <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br /> <br />Members of ci tv Staff Present: Ci ty Manager Bob Herrera, City <br />Attorney Knox ASkins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager John Joerns, Planning Director Chuck Harrington, <br />Police Chief Bobby Powell, Human Resources/Purchasing Manager <br />Louis Rigby, Fire Chief Joe Sease, Fire Marshal Paul <br />Hickenbottom, Building Inspector Mark Lewis, Assistant <br />Director of Public Works Buddy Jacobs, Finance Director Jeff <br />Litchfield <br /> <br />Others Present: Howard Ebow, Creekmont civic Association; Boy <br />Scouts Justin Barnhill and Michael McDonald; 16 citizens <br /> <br />2. The invocation was given by Mayor Malone. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held September 28, 1992. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Counciloerson Sutherland to aoorove the <br />Seotember 28 minutes as oresented. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson <br />Clarke had not yet arrived). <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />4. Mr. Howard Ebow, 5405 Beaver Creek,President of the Creekmont <br />civic Association, addressed Council regarding continuing <br />traffic problems on Myrtle Creek and aSking for the City to do <br />everything possible to alleviate these problems. <br /> <br />Mayor Malone called forward Justin Barnhill and Michael <br />McDonald, Scouts who are working on their communications <br />badge. The Mayor asked Councilpersons Thrower and Gay to <br />present each of the young men with City pins. <br /> <br />5. Mayor Malone called the public hearing regarding demolition of <br />dangerous buildings to order at 6:15 P.M. <br />
