MINUTES OF THE FIRE FIGHTER PENSION BOARD OF TRUSTEES April 27, 2006 1. Call to Order Chairman Jones called the meeting to order at 18:06. Members Present: B. Compton, J. Suggs, J. Joems, J. Jones, J. Oliphant Members Absent: T. Dye, M. Campise Others Present: M. Lanclos (City of La Porte - Executive Secretary) 2. Consider Approval of Minutes of January 25, 2006 Meeting. Motion to approve minutes as read was made by Mr. Joems and seconded by Mr. Oliphant. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Consider approval or other action ratifying the appointment by the volunteer fire department of three board members and terms of office. Mr. Jones made a motion for the board to appoint Pension Members as presented by a vote of the volunteer association. These members drew straws to determine the term of their office. The members appointed were Johnny Jones, serving 1-yr; Bruce Compton, serving 2 yrs; and Jeff Suggs, servicing 1 yr. The motion was seconded by Mr. Suggs and passed unanimously. 4. Consider approval or other action regarding appointment by the board for La Porte Resident, Position 2. Mr. Jones made a motion to reappoint Mr. Oliphant as Resident Trustee to Position 2. Seconded by Mr. Suggs the motion passed unanimously. 5. Administer Oath of Office. Mrs. Lanclos administered the Oath of Office to all newly appointed trustees; Bruce Compton, Johnny Jones, Jeff Suggs and Jack Oliphant. 6. Elect officers from members of the board. Results of election: Mr. Suggs first motioned and Mr. Compton seconded to elect Chairman - Johnny Jones. Mr. Jones first motioned and Mr. Compton seconded to elect Vice Chairman - Jeff Suggs. Mr. Oliphant first motioned and Mr. Jones seconded to elect Secretary - Bruce Compton and motions passed unanimously.
