<br />LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY BOARD <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />February 25, 1986 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Bramlett at 5:45 P.M. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: President Jerry Bramlett, Vice President Al Fields, <br />Secretary Rick Matthews <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Cary Burnley <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: City Manager Jack Owen, Director of Public Works Jerry <br />Hodge, Authority Attorney John Armstrong, Bond Attorney Roland Geddie <br />of Baker & Botts <br /> <br />2. The minutes of the meetings on January 7, January 8, and February 19, <br />1986, were read and approved. <br /> <br />3. John Armstrong presented comments made by various entities on the <br />proposed contracts stating which were negotiable points and which were <br />not. Questions on bonding were discussed by Roland Geddie. It was <br />stated that the City Council of La Porte should approve the contract <br />before the others. John Armstrong also stated that the City of Shoreacres <br />had received the other entities' comments. <br /> <br />4. Jack Owen presented a list of suggestions to the Board on the future <br />operations and policies of the Authority. <br /> <br />The motion was made and seconded to allow John Armstrong to negotiate <br />the contract with the entities and to answer their comments and questions <br />on the contract. <br /> <br />The motion was made and seconded to proceed with the current timetable <br />for the planned conversion to surface water. <br /> <br />5. Complete reorganization of the Board was tabled until the full Board is <br />present. However, due to the contract negotiations a motion was made <br />and seconded to keep the Board as is until September, 1986. <br /> <br />6.
