The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: President Cary Burnley, Vice President Al <br />Fields, Secretary Rick Matthews, Member Jerry Bramlett <br />OTHERS PRESENT: From the City of La Porte: Mayor Norman <br />Malone, City Manager Bob Herrera, Assistant City Manager John <br />Joerns, Director of Public Works Steve Gillett, <br />Water/Wastewater Superintendent Buddy Jacobs; Authority <br />Attorney John Armstrong; From the City of Morgans Point: <br />Mayor John Grimes, City Attorney Roy Fuller; From the City of <br />Shoreacres: Mayor Bill Haiflich; From BAYMUD: W. E. Gwaltney, <br />E. L. Tallichet, George Mahlstedt; Cecil Allen and Peter <br />Goldsmith of Turner Collie & Braden; David Fetzer of Moroney <br />Beissner & Co. <br />2. The minutes of the meeting February 10, 1987, were read and <br />approved. <br />3. Bob Herrera spoke about his conversation with Mike Marcotte of <br />the City of Houston. Mr. Marcotte advised that the contract <br />presented by the La Porte Area Water Authority was being <br />reviewed by his city"s legal department. He also indicated <br />that the Authority had met all deadlines that the City of <br />Houston had set for participation in the Southeast Plant. <br />4. Cary Burnley presented a draft copy of the contract between the <br />La Porte Area Water Authority and the involved entities. He <br />advised those present that although no timetable had been <br />established for approval of the contract, all involved parties <br />should move rather quickly to reach this approval. <br />
