<br />LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY <br />MINUTES <br />July 22,2008 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 PM by President Steve Valerius. <br /> <br />Members Present: President Steve Valerius, Vice President Paul Berner, and Members <br />Member Dennis Steger and Robert Roy. <br /> <br />Members Absent. Secretary Chester Pool <br /> <br />Others Present: General Manager Ron Bottoms, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett and Director of Finance Michael Dolby. <br /> <br />2. The minutes from the meeting held February 13, 2008 were reviewed. Motion by Robert <br />Roy, second by Paul Berner to approve the minutes as presented. Motion was <br />unammous. <br /> <br />3. General Manager Ron Bottoms presented the proposed FY 2008-2009 Operating Budget. <br />Ron Bottoms, Michael Dolby and Steve Gillett answered questions from the Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Robert Roy, seconded by Paul Berner, to approve the Budget as presented. <br />Motion was unanimous. <br /> <br />4. General Manager Ron Bottoms presented the proposed renewal of the Operator's <br />Agreement for an additional three (3) years. Ron Bottoms and Steve Gillett answered <br />questions from the Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Robert Roy, seconded by Dennis Steger, to approve the renewal of the <br />Operator's Agreement as presented. Motion was unanimous. <br /> <br />5. Steve Gillett informed the Board that the City of Houston's Expansion and Improvement <br />Project at the Southeast Water Purification Plant was moving forward, and that the <br />Authority had made the payment of $586,560 <br /> <br />Steve Gillett informed the Board that the SCADA Project has been awarded, and that the <br />installation should be complete within the next quarter.. <br /> <br />6.
