<br />MINUTES OF THE LA PORTE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />July 24, 2006 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />President Pat Muston called the meeting to order at 5: 00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: Bill Love, Mike Clausen, Ed Matuszak, Chuck Engelken, Tommy <br />Moser and Pat Muston. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Deborah Johnson <br /> <br />Staff Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett, Assistant Finance Director Michael Dolby, <br />Assistant to the City Manager Crystal Scott, City Manager Debra Feazelle, Assistant City <br />Secretary Sharon Harris, Erica Mochman, Assistant City Manager Cynthia Pearson and <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns <br /> <br />Others Present: None <br /> <br />2. Motion was made by Committee Member Engelken to approve the Minutes of June 26. 2006 <br />with corrections. Second by Committee Member Love. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Bill Love, Ed Matuszak, Pat Muston, Mike Clausen, Chuck Engelken and Tommy <br />Moser. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />3. Discussion and Follow up on Budget & Economic Development Position was discussed. <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle gave an overview on the Budget and Economic Development <br />Position and noted Seabrook was added to the survey. <br /> <br />Propose 4B Fund position as mid administration level. <br /> <br />They would be a City of La Porte employee but be reimbursed by 4b. <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle suggested a board member be assigned to work with position <br />and report to City Manager's Office. <br /> <br />Bill Love made a motion to move forward with Economic Development Coordinator direct <br />hire & funds to pay salary. <br /> <br />Motioned carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Consensus of committee. <br /> <br />Bill Love will work with City on hiring process. <br /> <br />Mike Clausen noted we need to continue to evaluation position and determine its results for <br />the City. <br />
