<br />MINUTES OF AD HOC MEET AND CONFER LAW REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING <br />September 18, 2006 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tern Moser at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilmembers Clausen, Moser, Beasley, Engelken, Mosteit, Police <br />Chief Richard Reff, and Patrol Officer/President of La Porte Police Officer's Association Matt <br />Novosad. <br /> <br />Other Staff Present: Assistant City Secretary Sharon Harris, Patrol Officer/Secretary of La <br />Porte Police Officers Association Robyn Gallion, Patrol Officer Trina Hernandez, and Internal <br />Affairs Detective/President of Texas Municipal Police Association Jerome McKown. <br /> <br />2. Motion was made by Council member Engelken to appoint Council member Beasley as <br />Chairman of the committee. Second by Council member Mosteit. <br /> <br />3. The committee reviewed the Chapter 142, Subchapter Meet and Confer Law of the Texas <br />Local Government Code. <br /> <br />4. The committee discussed and reviewed requirements for the city to participate in and comply <br />with the Meet and Confer Law. <br /> <br />5. The committee discussed the effects and points in compliance to the Meet and Confer Law. <br /> <br />6. The committee and Jerome McKown had comments. <br /> <br />7.
